Total Library Orientations Return to Dashboard

Each year thousands of new students come to Library Orientations taught by one of our Professional Librarians to learn how to navigate the library's resources. In doing so, they learn how to construct an effective search strategy - by selecting and adjusting search terms and applying Boolean operators. Students also learn how to distinguish between scholarly and popular materials. Librarians take this opportunity to introduce them to the tools available for refining results to retrieve information aligned with their needs and the citation tools available to help them format their bibliographies.
