Biographical Sketch of / Agency History
| Dr. Andrea Radke was born on July 17, 1971, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, but spent her childhood in Savanna, Illinois. She earned her bachelors degree in history education and Native American Studies from Brigham Young University in 1992 and then went on to earn a masters degree in U.S. History with an emphasis on the history of the American West in 1995. Dr. Radke then took time out of her studies to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Curitiba, Brazil. Upon her return, she attended the University of Nebraska where she earned a doctorate degree in U.S. history with emphases on the American West, Women’s History and social history from 1870-1920. Dr. Radke has had various works published on a wide variety of subjects including articles on women schoolteachers, rural women homesteaders in the Great Plains, perceptions of Mormon women, and she is currently awaiting the forthcoming of her book which is being published by the University of Nebraska Press on women college students at land-grant universities. Dr. Radke is a member of the Coalition of Western Women Historians, Mormon History Association and Western History Association. Outside of the academic world, Dr. Radke enjoys music, singing, theater, art, long-distance running, and has a growing interest in fly-fishing. | |

Scope and Content
| The interviews
primarily focus on topics in Women's History.
The transcripts are arranged alphabetically by the last name of the person interviewed, followed by the topic that each interview covers. Each transcription is filed with a release form and an interview record that contains information on the person conducting the interview, the person being interviewed, and the subject covered in the interview. |
